A double-amputee, named Nick Garwood, has learned to walk again after a groundbreaking surgery, the first of its kind, was successfully completed.An Oregon-based surgeon completed the first osseointegration, a surgery that involves inserting a titanium implant into the bone of a patient. This allows for the direct attachment of a prosthetic limb.Doctors claim that the method has a number of benefits over conventional arm and leg socket-mounted prosthetics.
