Driver jumps out of car and runs after mowing down 17-year-old girl

A 17-year-old girl is fighting for her life after she was struck by a car in a hit-and-run on ’s South Side Saturday evening, according to police.

The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. in the city’s Roseland neighborhood.

Police say the teenager was running along Stewart when she was hit by a sedan. The impact left her critically injured on the roadway.
