The discovery of a 3 million-year-old toolkit suggests that humans were not actually the first to craft and use utensils.Researchers believe that an early evolutionary relative called used them to butcher meat 300,000 years before we did.The stone artefacts are examples of what is known as an 'Oldowan toolkit', and were found at the Nyayanga archaeological site in present day Kenya.
