Even amateur athletes can suffer from a degenerative brain disease linked to repeated knocks to the head, a study suggests.Researchers from Boston University found 63 out of 156 brains from athletes under 30 years old that were tested had chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).Of these, 45 — or 71 percent — were from amateur players competing at youth, high school or college level.
