Economists have dialed back their predictions of an imminent recession in the US, as falls closer to normal while the labor market remains steady.The latest survey of economists found their average probability forecast of a recession in the next 12 months has fallen to 54 percent, down from 61 percent in the last two polls in April and January. While that forecast remains high compared to pre-pandemic norms, it represents the largest percentage-point drop between surveys since August 2020 as the economy began recovering from disruptions.
