Emmanuel Macron arrived in China today to meet Xi Jinping for a lavish state reception, after Beijing appeared to distance itself from Moscow.The French president told his Chinese counterpart that he was counting on him to 'bring Russia to its senses' in regards to the war in Ukraine.'I know I can count on you to bring Russia to its senses and everyone to the negotiating table,' Macron told Xi during a bilateral meeting in Beijing.
