Former Dominican Republic Congressman Miguel Gutiérrez has accepted a plea bargain deal for conspiring to traffic drugs to the Unites States.Gutiérrez, who was arrested in May 2021 at Miami International Airport after arriving on a flight from the Dominican Republic, acknowledged that he was part of a network operating in his native country Colombia that conspired to distribute at least five kilos of cocaine from 2014 to 2020, court records show.The plea bargain deal, which was entered December 2022 in the Southern District of , also indicated that Gutiérrez conspired to launder money.
