Former British Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies has come out in support of World Athletics' decision to - and thanked the organisation for 'standing up for female athletes'. Under new rules announced by Sebastian Coe, the governing body's president, women will be banned from competing in the female category at international athletics events in order to 'prioritise fairness and the integrity of the female competition before inclusion'.It comes as a result of what Lord Coe told was a clear consensus 'from the vast majority of the core stakeholders we have', including female athletes, coaches, and member federations.
