It turns out, speaking kindly to yourself for even less than a minute a day could boost your mental health. Researchers from the University of Berkeley recruited more than 100 people to test if positive affirmations could improve mental health.The affirmations included repeating statements like 'I believe in myself' to banish fear and self-doubt. They were also instructed to practice 'self-compassionate touch,' which consisted of placing their hands over their heart and stomach while saying the statements.
