The Republican-led House Judiciary and Ways and Means committees subpoenaed Michael Batdorf, IRS Director of Field Operations, Darrell Waldon, IRS special agent in charge, Thomas Sobocinski, FBI Special Agent in Charge and Ryeshia Holley, FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge to come in for testimony. Chairs Jim Jordan and Jason Smith said they believe the individuals have knowledge of an October 7, 2022 meeting where Weiss, a U.S. attorney in , allegedly said 'he is not the deciding person on whether charges are filed.'
