An expert in hostage negotiation has told of how an Israeli operation to rescue more than 100 people who were taken captive by Hamas attackers and dragged into Gaza would be fraught with difficulty - and could result in hostages being killed.In the aftermath of this weekend's, former UN senior advisor and one of the world's most experienced hostage negotiators Scott Walker said: 'It is understandable and reasonable for IDF to be preparing for an armed hostage rescue - but these operations are some of the riskiest.'Hostages are likely to be dispersed and moved around and it will be highly unlikely that an Israeli force could just go in and liberate the hostages in one fell swoop without suffering significant losses, either of hostages or their own men,' he said.
