Rising evidence is pointing to the possibility that leprosy has become endemic in the southeastern United States, with being named among the top reported states.Florida is witnessing an increase in leprosy cases lacking traditional risk factors, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention () said.It noted that Central Florida accounts for 81 per cent of cases reported in the state and almost one fifth of nationally reported cases.
