The Florida Senate approved a bill Tuesday that will prohibit minors from having reassignment surgery, hormone therapy as well as stopping them from accessing puberty blockers.In addition, the bill also sets new rules for adults who want to receive gender reassignment surgery, forcing them to request the surgery in official paperwork from the Florida Department of Health. It comes 24 hours after the Florida Senate passed one of the The bill, which was sponsored by Senator Clay Yarborough, a from Jacksonville, passed easily 27-12. A similar bill is also being undertaken in the Sunshine State's House under Rep. Randy Fine of Melbourne Bach.
