Floridians are being urged to steer clear of post-hurricane floodwaters because they could contain flesh-eating bacteria — as infections rise nationally.Hurricane Idalia late last month, tearing its way through $10billion of property and killing at least two people. Now that the dust has settled, however, local health officials fear there could be a spike in infections caused by Vibrio vulnificus — a bacteria that normally lives in warm seawater that has been brought inland by the storms.
