Breathtaking images of the Flower Moon have emerged from across the globe as the celestial phenomenon rings in the start of summer.
The event is the last full moon of spring, and sees the moon lit up in vibrant orange and red because the sun and the moon are directly opposite each other in the sky.
Its name has been attributed to Algonquin peoples and was documented by Henry David Thoreau in his writings about Native American moon names.
