The NFL claimed 93 out of the top 100 broadcasts in American TV last year, as three college football games cracked on the list, while the State of the Union was the only political program to feature, but MLB, and NHL games failed to make the cut. That's a major improvement on (82) that broke onto the chart, according to Nielsen. In 2017, the NFL was attributed 61 slots. What's more is, that 2023 marked the first time a single sport dominated the top 100, with college basketball just missing out, as CBS' presentation of the San Diego State-UConn title game was the year's 101st most-watched broadcast.
