The former San Antonio police officer who was charged on Tuesday in the shooting of an unarmed 17-year-old at a McDonald's parking lot has been released on bond.James Brennand turned himself in Tuesday night on two charges of aggravated assault by a public servant. He was released at 4.00am local time after posting $100,000 ($A 159,000) bond for each count, the sheriff's office said.The October 2 shooting, which left teenager Erik Cantu in critical condition, was a "failure for one individual police officer," the San Antonio police chief said Tuesday. He has since been fired.
