Girls who start their periods at a younger age are at higher risk of developing type 2 and stroke as adults, a study suggests.The increased risk starts in those aged under-13 at menarche, and increases the younger they are.Experts believe this could be due to higher levels of oestrogen, which they are exposed to for longer.
