The number of people with will soar to 1.3billion globally in less than three decades, according to new research.The explosion in cases — more than double the 529million now — will be largely driven by the world's ever-expanding waistline. But a growing older population, who are more at risk for the disease, and air pollution will also contribute to the uptick.Scientists at the University of Washington, Seattle, called the figures 'alarming' and warned of an impending wave of heart disease and stroke cases.
