Hamas say they are still open to talks with Israel over a permanent ceasefire, after mediators have so far failed to secure a truce.In a televised speech earlier today, Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, said Israel bore sole responsibility for failing to reach an agreement, but said the militant group were 'open to continuing negotiations'.It comes as Israel previously threatened to invade Gaza's Rafah by the start of the holy fasting month of Ramadan if Hamas did not return the remaining hostages, in a dark ultimatum that was condemned by international observers.
