The boss of ’s electricity company has revealed its staff saw Maui’s killer fire begin, but insisted its fallen power lines were not to blame.Shelee Kimura lashed out after the County of Maui lodged a potentially against Hawaiian Electric (HEI) claiming the company caused the fire that killed more than 100 people on August 8.The CEO said a fire which broke out at 6.30am ‘appears’ to have been caused by power lines brought down in high winds, and that power supplies were switched off by 9am.
