A new fierce heatwave is expected to unleash record-breaking 48.8C temperatures in Europe this week as British tourists across the Mediterranean brace themselves for more unrelenting heat.Tourists have collapsed and fainted in and and wildfires have ripped through homes in Palma and Turkey in the past week after temperatures across southern Europe hit 43C.But the sweltering temperatures are set to soar even higher in the coming days as a new anticyclone called Charon, who in Greek mythology was the ferryman of the dead, reached Europe from North Africa on Sunday night.
