The House passed a stopgap spending measure Tuesday that would fund the federal government through early next month and avert a shutdown.The legislation — which was unveiled on Monday — would fund the government through March 11 in addition to providing $350 million to address water contamination issues in Hawaii.The bill’s 272-162 passage in the lower chamber comes well ahead of Congress’ Feb. 18 deadline, with the Senate expected to pass the measure in the coming days.
