The House on Tuesday passed a stopgap government funding bill to stave off a shutdown and approved a bill to fix the debt-ridden U.S. Post Office so it can deliver mail six days a week.
Currently, government funding lapses on February 18th. The House bill extends that deadline to March 11. It must now be passed by the and signed by President .
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the Senate will take up the House stopgap, known as a continuing resolution.
