Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory condition affecting mainly the skin (though it can affect the eyes, too), typically causing facial flushing and redness, pustules (often mistaken for acne), and irritation and redness around the eyes. It can also cause thickening and distortion of the skin, commonly around the nose, known as rhinophyma.
