A woman is in hospital after being mauled by a shark on Sunday at a popular West Australian beach.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning while the woman in her 20s was on a pool ring about 50m from the shoreline of Kelp Beds beach at Wylie Bay, east of Esperance on the state's south coast.
People on the beach said the 3.3m-long shark bit the woman on the torso before a couple ran into the ocean and dragged her to the shore as she lost consciousness.
