Illinois Governor JB Pritzker on Monday signed into law a bill that he says will make it the first state to outlaw book bans, continuing a trend of Democrats and stunting children's education.The state's public libraries that restrict or ban materials because of 'partisan or doctrinal' disapproval will be ineligible for state funding as of Jan. 1, 2024, when the goes into effect.'Today, Illinois makes history as the first state in our nation to officially end book bans once and for all,' Pritzker, a , tweeted Wednesday. 'We’re showing everyone what it looks like to stand up for liberty. As simple as that.'
