There were only 24 hours of daylight between being on Wednesday evening and the sending of an anonymous email that tipped the world of Formula One on its axis - but perhaps enough for the Red Bull team principal to start feeling as if the worst might be over. The independent investigation, first announced earlier this month, had been hanging over the constructor since the very start of their season. It cast a pall over the launch of the brand-new RB20 two weeks ago, and swirled like a fog through last week's pre-season testing in Bahrain, the location of the 2024 season's first race this weekend. Horner, 50, was present in the Gulf state before beating a path back to London, only to return late to the Kingdom skipping media duties ahead of race weekend, leaving his driver to step into the breach on Wednesday afternoon. The probe's verdict was not yet confirmed.
