The historic case following Donald Trump's historic indictment on classified documents charges will be heard by a Florida judge he appointed who got confirmed by the Senate just days after the 2020 election. The case has been assigned to Judge Aileen Cannon, who drew criticism from legal scholars and Trump critics after she granted a request by Trump's team last September to have a 'special master' review document seized by FBI agents during a raid at Mar-a-Lago.Her ruling to have an appointed judge sort through 33 boxes of material and more than 100 documents marked 'classified' threatened to stall the case.
