WikiLeaks founder has appeared in court on the US-controlled Pacific island of Saipan, near his native Australia, ahead of a hearing where he is expected to plead guilty to a single count of espionage. The WikiLeaks founder was seen wearing a suit and tie as he entered the US Federal Courthouse at around 8am local time on Wednesday (11pm Tuesday London time, 6pm Tuesday New York time). His court hearing is expected to start at 9am local time. The 52-year-old is currently sat in the court, alongside his defence team, and appears to be reading court documents. The judge in the case, Ramona V Manglona, has arrived, and is presiding over the proceedings.
