The new finding offers a window into the shallow sea that once covered the arid deserts of northeastern and western Texas 150 million years ago. Texas during the Late Jurassic, the era of Earth's largest and most famous dinosaurs, is still largely a mystery to paleontologists due to the limited amount of intact Jurassic-aged rock formations across the state.
