The spotlight is back on ultra-processed food after more studies this week suggested that too much of it increases your risk of a potentially deadly heart attack or stroke by nearly a quarter.They're the latest reminder that foods like biscuits, cakes, crisps and all sorts of other things most of us reach for on a regular basis can have serious negative effects on our health. We've long known they're not great for us, but with each new revelation about the possible effects of these ultra-processed foods, or UPFs, the calls for us to consume less of them become louder and louder.
