New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that the word 'salesman' will be replaced with 'salesperson' in state law just one week after banning the word 'inmate,' as critics slam rising crime rates in the state. Current bail laws in New York do not require anyone arrested of a nonviolent felony or misdemeanor to post a cash bond for release, which complements the overall rate in increasing by 36 percent.Other changes as a result of the decision include all instances of 'his' or 'her' being replaced with 'their' in all statutes regarding the real estate industry.
