Kimmel offers consolation prize to fan who dropped Judge's 61st homer

Kyle Mulligan, the fan who nearly caught Aaron Judge's historic 61st home run of the season earlier this week, will get to see another ball drop on New Year's Eve, thanks to ABC's .

The late-night host interviewed Mulligan via satellite to discuss the moment Judge's record-tying home run caromed off his glove and into the Blue Jays' bullpen. The Yankees' slugger now needs only one more home run over the season's final week to set a new team and American League home run record.

'It was a big moment, and the ball itself was like a flying lotto ticket,' Kimmel told his audience during a recording in Brooklyn. 'It can be worth, they say, anywhere between $200,000 and $250,000.
