The Innocence Project decided to take Scott Peterson's case with a view to revisiting previously 'withheld' evidence that may exonerate him, court records reveal. The organization - which is separate from the more acclaimed Innocence Project - was contacted by Peterson's team in March last year. Its attorneys have not publicly discussed the case nor vouched for Peterson's absolute innocence.
