Students in Maui are preparing for a return to school after the devastating wildfires which destroyed swathes of the island and killed at least 115 people.Several schools in Lahaina, the historic town destroyed by the fire, were badly damaged and one was destroyed. Officials have released plans to allow students to study at the island's other schools, or remotely, as they try to rebuild their lives.But the return to normal for Maui's students will take time. A report drawn up by 's superintendent, Keith Hayashi, said around two thirds of the 3,000 students of the ruined schools have still not reenrolled or opted into long-distance learning.
