Man quits six-figure job to ride horse across the country for 100 days

A man has quit his six-figure tech job so he can ride a horse that he bought off Craigslist for $3,000 across the country over 100 days as part of a 'family tradition' that he described as a 'rite of passage.'

Cyril Bertheau left his home in Austin, Texas, with his new horse, Shiok, on April 9, and set out on a more than 2,000-mile journey across seven states to Seattle, Washington - with nothing except whatever he could fit on his saddle.

The Texas native plans to travel by horseback through New , , Wyoming, , and , before finishing the trip in Washington over the course of just 100 days - where he will stay for a week before doing it all over again to get back home.
