Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) admitted his claims that colleagues had invited him to orgies and taken cocaine were 'exaggerated,' House leader said on Wednesday.
McCarthy told reporters that he may take further action over Cawthorn's comments, which caused an angry outcry among Hill Republicans.
The row erupted when Cawthorn, at 26 one of the youngest and most controversial House members, claimed he had seen evidence of 'sexual perversion' in Washington during an interview with John Lovell for the 'Warrior Poet Society.'
