A mom who invited the state's attorney general to dinner to learn about her son says she is now being probed by the state for child abuse after seeking medical help with the youngster's transition.
Mother-of-two Amber Briggle, who has a transgender son called Max, 14, says her family is one of at least five families that are currently under investigation in wake of Abbott's February ruling targeting children who've received treatments including puberty blockers.
She says she was contacted by child protective services on February 28, with an investigator saying they'd be arriving at her home within 30 minutes. Briggle says she managed to meet with the social worker at her office, and schedule a visit to her home for March 3, which she says resulted in social workers compliment her and her husband's parenting.
