Thousands of people descended on Somerset today for the first day of Glastonbury - after 10,000 more gathered at Stonehenge in Wiltshire to celebrate the summer solstice.Stages across the 900-acre site will host world-class music stars as well as speeches by politicians, film screenings, theatre and circus performances from Wednesday until Sunday. Festivalgoers dragged with them crates of beer and bottles of booze as they descended on the fields for five days of fun.
