A polio patient in Upstate New York is likely the first person to catch the disease on American soil in more than 40 years, evidence suggests.The unnamed patient is a 20-year-old Hasidic Jewish man who lives with his parents and wife in Rockland County, a local publication and the reports. He was discharged from hospital earlier this month after seeking care in June, but paralysis from the disease has left him struggling to walk — although he can now stand.
