NFL challenged over 'insulting' Rooney Rule of minority job interviews

A conservative legal group has accused the National Football League (NFL) of discriminating against white candidates by requiring teams to interview minority applicants for top coaching and executive jobs.

America First Legal (), which was founded by former Trump administration officials, filed a civil rights complaint this week saying the NFL's so-called 'Rooney Rule' amounts to unlawful race bias under federal law.

The complaint, filed with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), comes days before a clash between the and reigning champions the City Chiefs.
