NFL commissioner Goodell takes career earnings to $700m with new deal

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has put pen to paper on a new three-year contract - taking his total career earnings to a staggering $700million.

Goodell, who started off as an administrative intern at the NFL before working his way up to the job in just under two decades, has spent 17 years as commissioner after being chosen to succeed Paul Tagliabue back in 2006.

And on Wednesday it was confirmed that the 64-year-old will reach 20 years in the role after extending his reported $64m-a-year deal until March 2027.
