A real estate fraudster is accused of conning his way into owning two Harlem brownstones now worth $4.7 million which saw the real elderly owner being forced to live in a shelter.Long Island man Joseph Makhani, 60, from Kings Point, was indicted and arraigned on the grounds that he stole two brownstones located on West 118th Street and West 131st Street. Makhani is alleged to have stolen both the homes in 2012 in a scheme that involved the use of forged and falsified documents together with shell companies to conceal and carry out the thefts.
