NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell's shock resignation earlier this month came after she privately clashed with Mayor Eric Adams on a police disciplinary matter, according to a new report.Prior to Sewell's June 12 resignation announcement, Adams had a direct conversation with the commissioner and put pressure on her not to discipline the department's top uniformed cop, reported on Friday, citing a person close to Sewell.Despite the alleged pressure campaign, Sewell followed the recommendation of a civilian review board and docked 10 vacation days from Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey, a close Adams ally who voided the gun arrest of a retired NYPD cop he'd once commanded.
