Oscars fans stunned as sitcom cult legend narrates iconic awards show

Fans tuning in for the 97th were quite surprised to hear a very recognizable voice as the Oscar announcer.

Comedian David Allan Grier was tapped as the announcer for the 2024 awards ceremony, with another comedy legend taking on the role this year.

While the announcer's role is typically off-camera, he was even included in a rather hilarious bit with host Conan O'Brien.
