In another push to protect unborn babies, Republicans are unveiling their own tax credit expansion to include retroactive benefits for the duration of a woman's pregnancy. The Providing for Life Act aims to overhaul the federal government's family care system and is being spearheaded by Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa. A cornerstone of the new law is providing parents with retroactive credits for unborn children. The legislation, confirmed to DailyMail.com, would increase the refundable child tax credit from the current $2,000 per dependent to $3,500 for those under the age of six, and $4,500 for those between the ages of six and 17. Parents would need to be employed to receive the credit under the bill.
