Retired Major League relief pitcher Sr. has been formally indicted on a felony drunk-driving charge after being arrested in last month as his son and namesake was preparing to return to the with the City Chiefs. The elder Mahomes was officially indicted in Smith County Texas on March 28, according to online court records, which list the charge as 'Driving White Intoxicated 3rd or More IAT' and carries a 10-year possible sentence and $10,000 fine. He was arrested by Tyler police on February 3, marking at least the third time he was picked up on a drunk-driving related charge.He was previously sentenced to 40 days in jail in 2019 after one of his previous DUI offenses.
