Following is the message President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued on Hanukkah holiday:
“I congratulate our Jewish citizens on Hanukkah holiday.
At the bottom of our august nation’s strong sense of unity, solidarity and belonging lies the due diligence, paid for centuries to all our citizens freely practicing their faiths, cultures and traditions.
In line with our understanding of civilization, built on perceiving differences as richness and treating every one fairly under all circumstances, we will continue to maintain the climate of peace and calm, based on mutual respect and love, in our heavenly homeland.
I extend my congratulations to all Jewish people, particularly our Jewish citizens who are an inseparable part of our society, on Hanukkah holiday. Peace be upon you!
