Principal resigns after sending $100K to scammer posing as Elon Musk 

A charter school principal has resigned after cutting a $100,000 check to an internet scammer posing as - an investment promptly uncovered by staffers and made with school funds.

Long the principal of Burns Science and Technology in rural Central , Jan McGee has since been subject to a storm of backlash - despite the school's business manager catching wind of the payment and cancelling it before it went through.

That said, outrage exhibited from parents of the school's some 1,000 students has lingered - with several questioning how someone holding such a crucial position could be so flippant with school funds.
